Seller terms

These terms apply on top of the terms of use when you list a shop.

Listing

  • Your shop must meet the handmade rules and be family-friendly, including the site you link to.
  • The evidence you send must be your own work, made by you or your team.
  • You can update your social links, markets and monthly news at any time. Other changes to a live shop go through a reviewer: email contact@byhand.studio.
  • We can take a shop down if it stops meeting these terms. We'll tell you why.

Shop updates

Live shops can post one update a month. Updates appear on your shop page and in the site's news feeds, and members can comment. You're responsible for replying politely; you can remove comments on your own updates. Deleting an update doesn't give you another one that month.

  • A featured stall puts your shop under the bunting at the top of an aisle for 1 to 8 weeks.
  • Each aisle has a few spots. The price per week is shown before you pay.
  • It starts as soon as payment goes through, and is always labelled “sponsored”.
  • It doesn't change your place on the noticeboard or in search.
  • If we take your shop down during a campaign for breaking these terms, the campaign ends without a refund. If we end it for any other reason, we refund the unused weeks.

Fast-track review

  • While your shop is waiting for review you can pay £9 to move it to the front of the queue. We review it as soon as we can, but we don't promise a set time.
  • You're paying for speed, not a particular answer. The same checks apply and we may still ask for changes or decline the shop. The fee isn't refunded in that case, because the review has happened.
  • A fast-tracked shop stays fast-tracked if we ask for changes and you resubmit.

Payments and refunds

Prices include VAT where it applies. Payments are taken by Stripe. Because featured stalls and fast-track reviews start straight away at your request, the 14-day cancellation period for online purchases doesn't apply once they've begun. Your other statutory rights are unaffected. Billing questions: contact@byhand.studio.
